"Rangers of the Rainforest 'Elves'": Hainan is the only tropical island province in China. In its central south lies the Tropical Rainforest National Park, listed among the first batch of national parks in China in 2021 and inhabited by 3,653 species of wild vascular plants and 540 species of terrestrial vertebrates.
