Foreign Ministry: Xisha Islands are China's Inherent Territory with No Disputes Whatsoever

On September 3, Guo Jiakun, Spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a regular press briefing. Responding to a Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson's recent statement asserting Vietnam's sovereignty over the Xisha Islands, Guo stressed that the Xisha Islands are China's inherent territory with no disputes whatsoever. China carries out necessary construction on its own territory as an exercise of its sovereignty, and Vietnam has no right to make irresponsible remarks.
